Timeless pieces. Endless possibilities.

Every winter, it can feel as though we need to start again. The weather shifts, the layers come out, and suddenly we look at our wardrobes and think, "I have nothing to wear."

But often, that is not true.

In many cases, you already own beautiful pieces that can become hero pieces again this year. The blazer you invested in last winter. The coat that still makes you feel polished. The boots that work with everything. The shirt, belt, knit or dress that just needs to be styled in a fresh way.

Creating your winter essentials list is not about buying a whole new wardrobe.

It is about understanding what you already have, what still makes you feel fabulous, and what pieces can help your wardrobe feel current, relevant and truly yours.

My list will be different to yours — and it should be. Your winter wardrobe will depend on
your style personality, lifestyle, climate, work, weekends and the way you want to feel when you get dressed.

The purpose of sharing my 15 key pieces is not to say every woman needs exactly the same things. It is to show you how to think about growing a wardrobe you love.

A wardrobe that works harder.
A wardrobe that feels more like you.
A wardrobe that makes getting dressed feel easier.

Before You Buy Anything New

Before adding anything to your winter wardrobe, start with what you already own.

Pull out the pieces you genuinely love. Not the pieces you feel guilty about. Not the pieces that only work in theory. The pieces that still make you feel good. Ask yourself:

  • Do I still love this?
  • Does it still feel like me?
  • Can I wear it more than one way?
  • Does it work with my lifestyle now?
  • Can it become a hero piece again this year?

This is where wardrobe building becomes exciting — because sometimes the best piece for the season is already sitting in your wardrobe.

It might just need a new shoe, a different layer, a belt, or a fresh way of wearing it.

1. Leopard Statement Flat

A leopard flat is one of those pieces that brings instant personality to an outfit.

For me, leopard works almost like a neutral. It teams beautifully with black, chocolate,
denim, cream, camel and winter whites, but it adds more interest than a plain shoe.
It is perfect with tailored pants, jeans, a skirt or a white shirt. It gives a simple outfit a little lift without feeling overdone.

Why it earns its place? It adds personality while still being comfortable and easy to wear.

2. Favourite Belt

A belt is one of the most underrated pieces in a winter wardrobe.

When you are wearing layers — shirts, knits, blazers and coats — a belt gives shape and
finish. It can completely change the proportion of an outfit and make something simple feel styled.

A beautiful brown or chocolate belt also brings warmth into a winter wardrobe and works
back with so many neutral tones.

Why it earns its place? It gives structure, polish and intention to everyday outfits.

3. Oversized White Shirt

A white shirt is a true wardrobe foundation.

I love an oversized white shirt because it gives you so many styling options. Wear it loose, tuck it into tailored pants, layer it under a vest, wear it open over a tee, or style it under a blazer.

It brings freshness to winter dressing, especially when you are wearing darker tones, heavier textures or lots of knitwear.

Why it earns its place? It is crisp, versatile and works across so many style personalities.

4. Tailored Oversized Pants

A pair of tailored, slightly oversized pants is one of the hardest-working pieces in my winter wardrobe.

They can move so easily from day to evening. During the day, wear them with a flat or boot. For dinner, add a small heel and a beautiful shirt or blazer.

The relaxed tailoring keeps them comfortable, but they still feel polished and current.

Why they earn their place? They are versatile, modern and easy to dress up or down.

5. Favourite Blazer

A great blazer is one of those pieces that instantly makes an outfit feel finished.

Mine is a M.A.Dainty blazer from last year, and it was my big investment piece for the
season. I still absolutely love it, which is exactly why it was worth investing in.

This is such a good reminder that not every hero piece needs to be new. When you choose well, pieces continue to work for you year after year.

Wear a blazer with denim, tailored pants, dresses, skirts, boots or flats. It adds structure and confidence to almost anything.

Why it earns its place? It brings polish, shape and longevity to your wardrobe.

6. Black Ankle Boots

A black ankle boot is a winter essential for so many women because it works with almost
everything.

I like a pair with a walkable heel and a clean shape. They need to work under tailored pants, with jeans, with dresses and with skirts.

They are practical, but they still make an outfit feel pulled together.

Why they earn their place? They ground winter outfits and make styling easier.

7. Winter Coat or Trench

A coat is often the first thing people see in winter, so it has a big impact.

A beautiful trench or winter coat can make even the simplest outfit feel considered. It pulls everything together and gives your wardrobe that sense of polish and cohesion.
A neutral coat is especially useful because it works over tailoring, denim, dresses, knitwear and evening pieces.

Why it earns its place? It completes the outfit and sets the tone.

8. Fine Layering Turtleneck

A fine layering turtleneck may not be the most exciting piece in your wardrobe, but it is one of the most useful.

It adds warmth without bulk and layers beautifully under shirts, knits, vests, blazers and coats. I especially love a rich winter tone like burgundy, chocolate or deep plum because it brings depth to neutrals. It is one of those pieces that helps everything else work harder.

Why it earns its place? It makes layering easier, warmer and more polished.

9. Soft Knit Vest

A knit vest is a beautiful layering piece for winter.

It adds warmth and texture without feeling too heavy. Wear it over a white shirt, under a
blazer, with jeans, or with a skirt and boots. It is also a great way to refresh pieces you already own. A shirt you wore last year can feel completely new when layered under a soft vest.

Why it earns its place? It adds texture, warmth and styling options.

10. Versatile Cashmere Knit

A beautiful knit is one of winter’s quiet heroes.

I love a soft cashmere or textured knit that feels lovely on the body and can be worn in many ways. It should work with tailored pants, jeans, skirts and layered under a coat.
A chocolate, taupe, cream or charcoal knit can become one of the pieces you reach for again and again.

Why it earns its place? It feels luxurious, practical and endlessly wearable.

11. Favourite Pair of Jeans

Every winter wardrobe needs a favourite pair of jeans.

For me, denim keeps a wardrobe grounded. It makes dressier pieces feel more relaxed and gives you an easy base for shirts, blazers, knitwear, coats and statement shoes.
The key is choosing a shape that feels current but still suits your body and lifestyle. A
modern relaxed leg can make denim feel fresh again without being too trend-led.

Why they earn their place? They make the wardrobe feel wearable, easy and real.

12. Lara Shirt Dress

I love the Lara Shirt Dress because of its versatility.

It is one of those pieces that can be dressed up or down depending on the day. Wear it with boots and a coat, add a belt to define the waist, style it with the Chrissy leopard heels, or layer knitwear over the top to change the look completely.

A great dress should not sit in your wardrobe waiting for an occasion. It should work for your real life.

Why it earns its place? It gives you an outfit in one piece, with so many ways to wear it.

13. Chrissy Leopard Heels

A small heel can be incredibly useful in winter, especially when it still feels comfortable and wearable.

The Chrissy Leopard Heels are a great example of a shoe that adds personality while still
working back with so many pieces. They can be worn with tailored pants, jeans, skirts and dresses. They bring polish, but they do not feel too serious.

Why they earn their place? They add personality, height and versatility.

14. Zoe Clare x Honey and Rose collaboration Elysian Skirt

The Zoe Clare x Honey and Rose collaboration Elysian Skirt is such a beautiful piece for winter because it brings softness and movement into the wardrobe.

It works with knitwear, shirts, blazers, coats and boots. It can feel feminine, relaxed, polished or creative depending on how you style it. This is also a perfect example of a piece that can become a hero — not because it is loud, but because it gives you so many outfit options.

Why it earns its place? It adds softness, movement and femininity while still being incredibly wearable.

15. Knee-High Boots

A knee-high boot is a brilliant winter piece, especially if you wear dresses and skirts.

They add warmth, structure and polish. They make softer pieces feel grounded and give you more ways to wear your winter wardrobe. I love them with the Lara shirt dress, the Zoe Clare x Honey and Rose skirt, or even layered under longer hemlines for warmth and shape.

Why they earn their place? They make dresses and skirts more wearable through winter.
